Grupo Extra - The Take Off

For newcomers in the music business is finding its own identity not always easy. Coming up with a new concept, a new sound, a distinct style, are just some elements that must be overcome. All the above are reflected in the Group "EXTRA" and her own creation of 'KUCHATA.

EXTRA’s creativity comes from Anthony Edwards aka "The Doggy" rapper, composer, songwriter and "Diddy CRUZ" singer / dancer.

The real breakthrough of the group came when the idea came to combine African Kuduro beat with the Dominican bachata. The Kuduro style comes from Angola and was founded in the mid- 90’s under the influence of techno and house music. This was the beginning of the popular Kuduro style The Bachata, is a famous Dominican rhythm, think about Juan Luis Guerra, Aventura and has been for years in all European charts. Grupo EXTRA now combines these two well-known styles. The new style KUCHATA is a fact.

With producer Fidel behind the scenes, the group put the first steps towards success.

Meanwhile a European promotion tour started. Barcelona, Murcia, Milan, Rimini and Switzerland are already acquainted with these four dynamic, agile and talented dancers and singers from the Dominican Republic.

Grupo Extra has already signed with some well-known record labels in Europe and their first single Arrapapa from the album The Take Off has already been released and entered the charts of Switzerland and Germany. The Netherlands will follow soon.

We will hear in the future much more of this Group! In October already a tour is scheduled in the Netherlands where they will promote their single and their album The Take off.
