Iolanta takes place in the mountains of the South of France in the 15th century. Iolanta is the blind daughter of King Rene. She is engaged to Robert, the duke of Burgundy.
The king calls for the greatest doctor from over-seas - Ibn-Hakia - to cure his daughter. The Duke, followed by the faithful Vaudemont, goes to meet the King in order to break his engagement with Iolanta because he is in love with another woman named Mathilde. This action can end up with a war. Hopefully, Iolanta will recover sight and peace will be saved.
The direction is wonderful, the set and the cast astonishing. They emphasize the marvelous tale, this universal story that proves that far from being blind, love does miracles
