Dave Dudley has played baseball, had many of his own radio
shows and has formed 3 bands over the period from 1950 until
present. The Dave Dudley Trio lasted for seven years, followed by
a group called The Country Gentlemen, and then The Roadrunners
in 1964. He has also played the Grand Ole Opre.
His hits started in the early ´60s with ‘Maybe I Do’ (top 30), and
‘Under Cover of the Night’ (top 20) followed by ‘Six Days On
The Road’, which became a massive success, peaking at #2 on the
country charts, making the pop top 40 and turning Dave Dudley
into a star.
A string of releases followed including: ‘Last Day in the Mines’,
‘Truck Drivin´ Son-Of-A-Gun’, ‘Trucker´s Prayer’, ‘Anything
Leaving Town Today’, ‘There Ain´t No Easy Run’(top 10), and
‘Two Six Packs Away’. His top 10 hit ‘Mad’ stayed on the chart

During the early ´70s, he released ´Comin´ Down’ and ‘Fly Away
Again’. He managed to put out 3 gold records during the ´70s, but
by the end of the ´80s, Dave was no longer a presence on the charts.
