H-Bomb was one of several early 80´s French bands that briefly made some world-wide noise, and arguably was one of the best, as their energetic, pre-thrash speed metal style was quite entertaining. However, their career was short-lived.

Coup de metal:
'Coup de metal' was certainly one of the best French metal albums released in 1983. H-Bomb were really excellent with their killer riffs and absolutely fascinating melodies. On this album, H-Bomb created their own style.

Playing as fast as Metallica but in a more melodic way. With this record H-Bomb released an album that sounds better than 'Kill' em all! This is maybe due to the fact, that the band concentrated on a few tracks instead of releasing an LP. Best tracks are 'H-Bomb', 'Le loup', 'Condamne ÃƒÆ’Ã‚Â mort', 'Coup de metal'. Even these days the album sounds good!

This album hasn't lost its power and it's a real pleasure to rediscover all of these songs on CD. The other tracks on the CD come from two picture discs: The first one was called 'To feel is pain' and the second one 'stop the lights'. On these tracks, H Bomb changed their line up. They were fed up with their singer and tried to evolve in a more commercial way. Lyrics were also written in English.

Attaque: 'Attaque' shows a speed metal band with high potential. Songs like 'Exterminateur', 'Gwendoline' are very energetic and still refreshing! The production was at this time very good. Songs were built around simple riffs, accompanied by some harmonies, like in Maiden. The lyrics are in French and the singer has got a very particular voice. He's certainly not the best vocalist on earth but his voice really suits to this music and it's really an attractive one.

As these albums were cult ones and very hard to find in France, it's really a good idea to offer them on CD at a reasonable price. Again, great effort was made on the quality of the booklet: containing lyrics and information about the band as well as exclusive photos. It's a real pleasure to rediscover this excellent speed metal album from the 80's.
